ABOUT

Attorney Hamid Towfigh was born and raised in Southern California. He graduated from Santa Monica High School with high honors in 1990. After graduating high school he attended UCLA and majored in Business-Economics, graduating magna cum laude in 1994 at age 19, the youngest of his class.
 
He attended Loyola Law School that year, was on the Dean’s Honor List, and in May 1997 at age 22 received his Juris Doctor degree again becoming the youngest lawyer of his class.

In July 1999 Mr. Towfigh became a Deputy District Attorney. After only 6 months as a prosecutor Mr. Towfigh started prosecuting serious felony cases in courts across Los Angeles County.

In more than 11 years as a prosecutor in the largest prosecutorial agency in the world he has handled numerous high profile cases, many involving celebrities including Dr. Dre, Master P., G-Unit rapper Young Buck, Silk the Shocker, Rupaul Charles, Ricky Manning, Adriana Lima, Catherine Oxenberg and others. As a member of the elite Hardcore Gang Division Mr. Towfigh prosecuted the most serious murder trials involving criminal street gangs throughout Los Angeles. He has won an unprecedented 100% of his murder jury trials and lost only 1 felony jury trial in his career.


Mr. Towfigh’s practice extends beyond the courtroom. He has participated in Project L.E.A.D. where he would speak with children at local elementary schools about the criminal justice system and the importance of staying in school and out of trouble. He continues to mentor youth and was awarded the prestigious Volunteer in Parole of the Year Award for helping incarcerated juveniles establish a successful and productive path back into society.

Mr. Towfigh also speaks fluent French, Persian and Spanish.
